Bold as Lions: A Father's Day Reflection on the Dads of Our Lady of Grace

A quiet kind of leadership shapes our students every day. This Father's Day, we celebrate the men who model God's love at Our Lady of Grace.

There is a quiet kind of leadership that does not ask for attention. It shows up at drop off a few minutes early. It coaches the team that needed a coach. It sits at the kitchen table long after dinner, working through one more math problem. It prays with a child at bedtime, even on the nights when everyone is tired. This Father's Day, we want to pause and celebrate the men who lead this way every day — the dads of Our Lady of Grace.

That verse tells us something profound. The love a good father gives is not just love — it is a window. Through it, children catch their very first glimpse of how God loves them: patiently, faithfully, and without conditions. Long before our students can define grace, they feel it in the steady presence of a dad who shows up. In that sense, the fathers of our school are doing sacred work, whether they realize it or not.

The character we form starts at home

Citizenship is taught long before it's celebrated.

We see that work reflected in our students every single day. The character we hope to form here at Our Lady of Grace — integrity, kindness, perseverance, faith — rarely starts in a classroom. It starts at home. When a child holds the door for a classmate, owns up to a mistake, or includes the kid sitting alone, we are often watching a lesson that was first modeled by a father.

Our dads walk that walk, and our whole community is blessed because of it.

A school is only as strong as its families

The truth is, a school is only as strong as the families who build it, and our fathers are a tremendous part of that strength. They give their time and their talents. They build and fix and carry. They cheer from the sidelines and show up for the hard conversations. They partner with our teachers instead of leaving the work to us alone. That partnership is one of the great gifts of this place, and it is exactly what makes Our Lady of Grace feel less like an institution and more like a family.

The year ahead

As we look toward the year ahead, we are genuinely grateful for the dads who will keep walking alongside us. We are counting on your mentorship, your encouragement, and your presence. Our students need to see strong, faithful men living out their values in the open, and there is no substitute for the example you set. Whether it is volunteering for an event, mentoring a young Lion, or simply being there, your involvement shapes this community in ways that last far beyond a single school year.

Thank you for being the first picture of God's love your children will ever know.

To every father, grandfather, godfather, and father figure in our Our Lady of Grace family: thank you. Thank you for the character you model and the example you set. Thank you for trusting us to walk this journey of faith and learning with you.

For families considering OLG

To the families considering us — families looking for a school where faith comes first and every child is known by name — know this: when you join Our Lady of Grace, you are not just enrolling a student. You are joining a community that takes family seriously, that honors the people raising these children, and that believes the work of forming the next generation is best done together.

Happy Father's Day to our incredible dads. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are so blessed to walk this year alongside you.
